Royal Caribbean International has announced exciting new details about its latest Icon Class ship, the Star of the Seas, set to embark from Port Canaveral, Florida, in August 2025. The introduction of this ship aims to offer the ultimate family vacation experience, aligning with the family-friendly market of its Florida base.
The Star of the Seas will continue the legacy of its sister ship, the Icon of the Seas, which launched earlier this year. It will offer seven-night Caribbean cruises with stops in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, Cozumel, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, along with a day at Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Passengers can look forward to iconic features from the Icon class, such as the Category 6 water park and the AquaDome, as well as exclusive adult areas like the Hideaway pool and lounge. Additionally, the ship will house over 40 dining and beverage options. Unique to the Star will be the Lincoln Park Supper Club, a Chicago-themed version of Icon's Empire Supper Club, offering a dynamic "eatertainment" experience.
Measuring 1,196 feet with 20 decks, the Star of the Seas aligns closely with the dimensions of the Icon but stands out with its own unique offerings. The ship will also focus on family-oriented adjustments, catering to a broader age range in children's areas and integrating more traditional games alongside high-tech options.
Onboard, technology enhancements include waterproof bracelets for child tracking and pilot tests of facial-recognition door systems. Star will also feature its own canine mascot, Sailor, building on the popular appearance of Rover, the Chief Dog Officer on Icon.
Cruise prices for the Star of the Seas in 2025 start between $1,654 and $1,705 per person, based on double occupancy, covering most onboard meals and select beverages.
