Neil Young Announces Cancellation of Crazy Horse Tour Due to Band Illness

Neil Young has announced the cancellation of the upcoming "Love Earth Tour" dates with his band Crazy Horse, citing illness among the group members. The decision was shared on his website this Wednesday, revealing that the health issues began after their recent performance at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan.

Explaining the situation, Young mentioned that a few band members fell ill shortly after the June 22 concert, leading to the initial postponement of two shows in Texas. "We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break," Young stated, expressing regret over the disruption and the impact on fans who had made travel arrangements.

Despite the setback, Young remains hopeful about returning to the stage, indicating that the band plans to reschedule some of the missed dates once they are healthy enough to perform. He emphasized the importance of health, stating, "Health is #1," and extended his gratitude to fans for their patience and understanding.

The cancellation also affects their scheduled appearance at the 2024 Ohana Festival, with festival organizers promising an updated lineup soon and wishing the band a speedy recovery.

In addition to the tour news, Young highlighted the upcoming release of "Early Daze," a collection of 1969 recordings by Crazy Horse, set to debut on Friday, June 28. The album is intended to showcase the band's early style and their foundational influence on rock music.

Crazy Horse's current lineup includes longtime members Billy Talbot on bass and Ralph Molina on drums, with Micah Nelson recently joining as guitarist.
